ADVENT 2012CELEBRATION

Faculty Meeting

Friday, 23rd November

I. ADVENT SEASON CELEBRATION

A. Mass for the Beginning of the New Liturgical Year

* December 3, Monday at 8:00 A.M. for the Gade 5 to Grade 10

9:00 A.M for Grade 1 - Grade 4

--- Canned goods collected will be offered at the Mass (4 cans for each student)

--- Offerings other than canned goods are also welcome

B. Advent Wreath Celebration

* Blessings of the Advent wreath is done within the Mass on Dec. 3

* For the 2nd and 3rd week of Advent: Para-Liturgy on Mondays

C. JESSE TREE or ADVENT TREE

* THE SYMBOLS OF THE SEVEN MESSIANIC TITLES (Wisdom, My Lord, Emmanuel, King, Rising Sun, Key of David, and Root of Jesse) TO BE HUNG ON THE TREE

* After reading the O Antiphon of each title, 10 students lead by the reader hang its symbol on the tree

++Class assignment to hang the symbols:
Wisdom - Grades 7 & 10 (6 Students)
Lord - Grade 9
ROOT OF JESSE - Grade 8
KEY OF DAVID - Grades 5 & 6
RISING SUN - Grades 3 & 4
KING - Grades 1 & 2
EMMANUEL - Faculty

* After the Prayer Celebration, students who want to present their offerings and wishes may do so... Symbols are available at the Campus Ministry Office.

D. Bulletin Board - CHRISTIAN LIVING Section put up something about ADVENT

II. OUTREACH PROGRAM

A. "Bundle of Joy"
          * Canned-goods Drive
                           Slogan : "Isang Latang Alay Para sa Mahalagang Buhay"
          * Seal the box once it is full, then ask for another one from the Campus Ministry Office

* Initial collection of canned goods after Dec. 3 will be submitted to the Campus Ministry Office on or before Dec. 14 (Friday)

B. Don Bosco Boy's Town

* Collect toiletries for the boys

Items to be brought
Nursery/Kinder 1 - brief (S, M, L)
Kinder 2 - Sando (S, M, L)
Grade 1 - Hankies and Face Towel
Grade 2 & 4 - rubber slippers (S, M, L)
Grade 3 - socks
Grade 6 - Toothpaste (tube) and toothbrush
Grades 5 & 7 - Shampoo (S, M, L)
Grade 8 - Laundry soap (bar/powder)
Grades 9 & 10 - pens and notebooks (80 leaves)

* Submit all items on or before December 12, Wednesday

* Class Officers from Grade 4 to Grade 10 & VERITAS Club Officers will represent the school to distribute our Christmas gifts
- Each officer will bring a personal present to his/her twin partner (Each will be assigned a name)
- He/She will bring snacks for 2

PAROL MAKING CONTEST 2012
Theme: "Jesus is the reason, to celebrate the season!"

Entry Rules & Regulations:

Parol Making is assigned to Grade 2-6
Each level is limited to one entry.
All entries must be newly created and original artwork of the class.
Parol dimensions are a minimum of 2 feet/2 feet wide/ 3 inches deep.
The use of indigenous and/or recycled materials is highly encouraged.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

Originality ---------- 30%
Artistic Skill ---------- 25%
Creativity ---------- 25%
Proper use of recycled materials ----------- 20%

7. All entries should be submitted on or before 1:00 P.M on December 7, 2012. Judging will follow @ 3:00 P.M.
8. The school outputs will be selected and may become a Dominican School property for future use in publication and will not be returned.

BELEN MAKING CONTEST 2012

Belen Making is intended for Grade 7 - 10
Each level is limited to one entry.
It will be place inside their classroom.
All entries must be newly created and original artwork of the class.
Miniature dimensions are a minimum of 1 foot in height.
The use of indigenous and/or recycled materials is highly encouraged.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

Originality ---------- 30%
Artistic Skill ---------- 25%
Creativity ---------- 25%
Proper use of recycled materials ----------- 20%
